Sage Green

Sage Green is genderqueer lighting designer based in Washington D.C. and New York City. Paired with an extensive background in dance (UNCSA ‘20), Green aims to create art that leaves a lasting impact on others. Graduating from UNC School of the Arts in 2024, Green has most recently held the Kenan Kennedy Center Fellowship from 2024-2025. Previously, they’ve held institutional positions at Jacob’s Pillow and Williamstown Theater Festival; working with world renown artists such as the Royal Ballet and American Ballet Theater.

Recent design credits include Dodi and Diana (Mosaic Theater), Circus of the Self (Spooky Action Theatre), Hand to God (Keegan Theatre) and Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lilly (Barter Theater-Gillam Stage). Recent associate/assistant credits include Wayne Mcgregor’s "Figures in a Landscape” (Jacob’s Pillow, The Royal Ballet), Fall for Dance 2025 (New York City Center), Dance Africa 2025 (Brooklyn Academy of Music) and “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” (Signature Theatre). Most recently, they were nominated for a Helen Hayes for their design of The Woman In Black at the Keegan Theatre.
